Pallet Racking & Industrial Shelving
Welch supplies a full suite of quality industrial shelving, pallet racking and mezzanine options, including both used and new equipment. We feature attractive terms, along with services like engineering, installation, project management and customer safety inspection. If you need a hand with pallet racking or storage, we are here to assist!
Cantilever Rack
Cantilever rack is typically used for storage of large, bulky or longer products like PVC, carpet roll, sheetrock, and steel. Cantilever racking uses structural arms attached to a beam at one end. Products are supported by the arms, giving forklifts access from the face of the racks.
Pallet Flow Rack
Pallet flow racks are structures with canted shelves, decked with skate-wheels or roller conveyors. Pallets are loaded from a channel in the back of the racking structure and they advance down the slope as previously added pallets are unloaded from the face.
This category of storage rack is a “first in / first out” system and is suitable for a large stock of heavy inventory and inconsistent sizes of pallets. They are frequently put to use in the beverage industry.
Carton Flow Rack
Carton flow rack is made up of sloped shelving with a roller system, allowing for better product flow and increased lane flexibility. Cartons are inserted from the top of the incline and make their way down from the high end of the shelves toward the lower side as product inventory diminishes. This category of equipment is oftentimes used by food and beverage operations to consolidate lower turning SKUs.
Drive In Rack
Drive-in racking is a high density industrial racking configuration with overhead cross beams that drives efficiencies in space and employee productivity. Pallets are upheld by tracks attached to the uprights. Lift trucks are able to freely drive in and out of each column of pallets. Many different types of businesses use drive-in racking, in particular those with large volumes of identical items.
A few uses for drive-in pallet racking are food service, grocery, food manufacturing, import/export, bulk product handling, and paint.
Because these racks are loaded from the face, management of goods is in a “first-in/last-out” order.
Push Back Rack
Push back storage equipment is loaded from a front aisle, and pallets advance up sloped steel rails on specialized carts. As new pallets are filled from the face of the racks, they advance the pallets in the rear of them up the incline.
In contrast to flow racks, push back rack configurations don’t require a filling lane behind them and can be designed for a higher capacity warehouse. Nevertheless, because all products are loaded from the face of the rack, pallet treatment is handled on a “last in/first out” principle which isn’t suitable for businesses with perishable goods. Similar to pallet flow racks, push back racks are suitable for high volumes of identical goods.
Selective Rack
Selective racks are by far the most common pallet racks available today, and there is a huge variety of possible sizes, gauges and types. These racks are fabricated with either structural or roll formed steel beams and uprights that are fastened with bolts or teardrop connections. Welch offers both standard single deep and double deep selective pallet racks.
You can also select different varieties of pallet rack decking and accessories depending on your use case and load capacity. Pick from standard wire decking, solid steel or slotted/perforated steel depending on your specific use.
Boltless Shelving
In addition to pallet racking, we offer a full range of boltless shelving in light, medium and heavy duty choices. This style of shelves is suitable for light industrial or shop use, shipping facilities, record archives, parts and dozens of other applications that need lighter weight support.
Customers can order decks as standard particle board, wire or solid metal decking. No nuts, bolts or other small parts are needed for setup of this product, so installation is a simple project. Welch also carries a full range of accessories like side panels, work tables, post caps, tie plates or footplates.
